Come as you are! Slow down and soften to soothe and nurture awareness of the mind, body + spirit. You'll be guided through long held passive poses to soften connective tissues, creating space in the hips, spine and pelvis. This practice is meditative, rejuvenating and restorative. An opportunity to melt away the stress, anxiety and tension that we carry physically, emotionally, mentally and energetically. A great practice if you suffer from symptoms of arthritis or carry a lot of tension and stiffness in your body.

Class is beginner & prenatal friendly.

Equipment: You will need a yoga mat, 2 blocks, 1 strap or belt, and blanket to support and enhance our practice.

Yin Yoga is a slower pace style of yoga that incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine with asanas or postures. Yin Yoga consists of fewer poses which work the connective tissue of the body; the tendons, ligaments and fascia. These are areas of our bodies we do not always consider but every healthy body needs the stretching until one reaches their place of resistance, holding still and holding for time. This creates a strong mind in that we learn to be mindful of our movements and our thoughts. Working these parts of our bodies assists individuals with arthritis, stiffness and assists with mobility issues; which includes most 55 people. Yin Yoga is a practice that helps to control breath, teaches a deeper breath which calms body and mind. Yin Yoga balances the Yoga Flow.

Equipment: Please bring a yoga mat.

The Macdonald Soccer League is a recreational program played throughout May and June, among the communities in the RM of Macdonald. Soccer allows our children to develop their movement through agility, balance, coordination and speed. The emphasis of this program is: skill development, cooperation, friendship, action, fair play, moderate competition and having a great time. The Learn to play program will introduce beginning soccer players to the game in a fun and recreational environment.

Macdonald soccer season starts the week of May 2, 2022 and will run until June 23, 2022.

Age groups - Ages are as of December 31, 2022.

Learn to Play:(5 year olds and under)

- Play once per week on Mondays from 6:15pm-6:45pm.

Mini Soccer: (6 and 7 years olds)

Modified Soccer: (8 and 9 years olds)

- Mini and Modified Soccer play Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm. There will be one practice and one game per week.

- The teams we enter from Starbuck will compete against teams from Oak Bluff, La Salle and Sanford.

- As Starbuck is a small community, depending on registrations the Mini Soccer and Modified Soccer may be combined to field a team, teams are coed.

Volunteers and Coaching

We are also looking for new volunteers to help out and coach. A soccer coaching clinic will likely be available towards the end of April 2022. Without volunteers we will not be able to provide this opportunity.

Please note that all families participating in Starbuck Recreation organized activities are required to sign the attached volunteer agreement. Please see attached Starbuck Recreation Association - Canteen List Policy.
