The Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District (MHRD) is a non profit organization established through an inter-municipal partnership to support community recreation opportunities. MHRD directly provides and supports the delivery of recreation programs and services to support lifelong health, well-being and engagement. MHRD is a community connector that responds to the needs of volunteer organizations and community leaders to maximize effectiveness.
Activities include:
- Direct recreation program delivery and support to recreation delivery systems managed by volunteers.
- Distribution of resource information to appropriate groups.
- Consultation and resource to community groups regarding facility operation and management, volunteer development, financial management, grant funding and program development.
- Liaison between community recreation associations and municipal councils.
