Yin Yang Yoga classes provide the benefits of a balanced practice of Hatha yoga as well as Yin yoga.
The classes will start with a more active and dynamic Yang practice (Hatha yoga) to energize and strengthen the body for the first thirty minutes. The following thirty minutes will be the Yin style of long held passive poses to open the body to more flexibility and to quiet the mind.
Hatha yoga is a classical form of yoga postures and breathing that revitalizes the body physically and mentally. It is an uplifting practice that increases muscle tone, improves flexibility and concentration, detoxifies the vital organs and allows you to experience a state of deep relaxation.
Yin yoga is a powerful practice with targets joints, ligaments and fascia within the body. Each posture is held for long periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues. This is the perfect antidote to stress and a great counterbalance to active lifestyles.
All classes are designed for beginners and beyond. Please bring water, your own yoga mat as well as any other yoga props you may have. Must be 18+ years of age to participate.
