MHRD will be hosting a Spring Break Camp on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of March Break, at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre.
Each day there will be free play time, crafting, outdoor play, games, and a special guest for the afternoon!
Tuesday March 29: Fit Kids Healthy Kids will run the group through fundamental movement skills and fundamental sport skills and then apply them to fun games!
Wednesday March 30: Wednesday afternoon's guest comes from the Manitoba Theater for Young People. They will facilitate 2 workshops. The first will be "Tell Me A Story" where students use theater exercises and storytelling techniques to engage in the art of the story. The second will be "Creative Drama" where students are introduced to drama. This workshop empowers students' imagination and self-expression through games, movement exercises and story theater.
Thursday March 31: Dr. Jim Duncan from Discover Owls comes to talk about Long-eared Owls that came to nest on his property. Joining Jim to help deliver this presentation will be Rusty, a live female Long-eared Owl. She is one of Discover Owls education ambassadors, a dear feathered friend and occasionally a ruthless heckler.
Essential items participants will need to bring to camp with them: a lunch, indoor shoes, winter gear to play outdoors, a water bottle, a mask, and positive attitude!
