Macdonald Volunteer Service Awards... initiated in 2006 by the Macdonald Public Recreation Commission in recognition of the 125th Anniversary of the R.M. of Macdonald and to celebrate the efforts and dedication of outstanding volunteers.
Award Categories
Youth
Recognizes young people (under 25) who have made considerable contributions to their school, organizations and communities through volunteer work.
Individual
Presented to exceptional volunteers whose efforts have contributed significantly to the quality of life in their community & municipality.
Award of Merit
Presented to those who have made exemplary contributions to the municipality.
About the Award
Artists within the R.M. of Macdonald were invited to enter an original work of art depicting "Life Within the R.M. of Macdonald". One piece of artwork was chosen. The winning painting was a watercolor entitled "Summer Day", by Oak Bluff artist Lorraine Powell.
Each winner is presented with a professionally framed reproduction print of this painting.
