Why is recreation so important for healthy ageing?

Regular physical activity is important for your health and independence. Staying physically active helps us to remain strong, flexible and able to carry out everyday tasks. In many people, it seems to "turn back the clock". And, beyond promoting our physical well being, regular physical activity helps to improve our mood, reduce stress and keep us alert and sharp.
