The White Plain Recreation District was restructured in 2009, becoming the Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District. The new district is formed through a partnership between:

• R.M. of Macdonald
• R.M. of Headingley
• Red River Valley School Division

The Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing and coordinating recreation services and programs that contribute to the health and well-being of residents of all ages and abilities. The District has acted as both catalyst and collaborator in providing programs to encourage participation and create more vibrant communities.
