Support Services for Seniors are community-based programs promoting health and well-being while assisting seniors to remain living independently as long as possible. Community based boards of directors are established to administer the Services to Seniors program and assist in developing programs that reflect the needs of seniors in their community. Services may include:

Escorted transportation - to medical appointments, bank, store, etc.

Yard & home maintenance referrals - including a registry of fee-for-service workers who provide housekeeping, meal prep, yard work, snow removal, minor electrical and plumbing services.

Daily Hello - a phone call to seniors to ensure well being. If concerns are identified, appropriate actions will be initiated.

Information & referrals for community government services - pension information, mobility aids, adult day programs, seniors centers, housing, grocery delivery services, health care services and health education.

Equipment rentals - wheelchairs, walkers, bath stools, transfer poles, etc.

Victoria Lifeline - a monitoring system set up in the senior's home that can be activated by pressing a button. Appropriate help will then follow.

Foot care clinics - regularly scheduled in the community or arrangements can be made to visit seniors in their home.
