Method of Payment
Payment may be made at the time of the first class. Post dated cheques are accepted. Cheques are made payable to the "Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District." Any NSF cheques will be charged a $25 administration fee.
Receipts
Receipts will be issued upon request or for programs that qualify for the Child Fitness Tax Credit. Please look for the "Yellow Diamond" symbol for programs eligible for this tax credit.
Fee Assistance
Recreation is for everyone- lack of financial resources should not stop you from participating in a recreation program or being active. MHRD can help you and your family. For more information, please contact the MHRD office to discuss options.
Program Cancellations
All classes are subject to cancellation if there are insufficient registrations. We will notify you as soon as a decision has been made.
Rescheduled Programs/Inclement Weather
Every attempt will be made to reschedule classes that are canceled due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, facility or instructor conflict. In the event that the rescheduled class does not suit the program participant, a refund will be provided for the class/classes missed. When schools are closed due to inclement weather, any MHRD programs taking place within those schools will be canceled. If you are unsure whether your program has been canceled, please contact the MHRD office.
Withdrawals
If the course has not yet started and you wish to withdraw from the program you have registered for, please let us know in advance of the program deadline.
Program Transfers
Participants may transfer to another program, provided there is available space.
Non Resident Registrations
All fees listed are the resident fee rate. Residents are people residing within the corporate limits of the Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District (RM of Macdonald and RM of Headingley.) Non residents will be required to pay an additional 20% per program registration fee. Exceptions will be given to individuals and families residing within the designated "Starbuck Recreation Area" as defined through joint agreement by the RM of Macdonald and the RM of Cartier. Individuals who own land or a business within the district will be exempt from the "out of district" fee.
Late Registrations & Waiting Lists
Late registrations may be accepted on a program by program basis. In the event that a program is full, you may be placed on a waiting list and contacted if space becomes available.
Student Rate
Students (ages 12-17) participating in any healthy living class will pay 50% of the registration fee.
Try It
Customers are allowed to attend one session of a multi week program at no charge to determine if they would like to continue with the program. Customers must contact the MHRD office in advance to trying the program. If the customer decides to continue with the program, the appropriate registration fees will be charged.
Buy What You Need
Look for the programs that qualify for this flexible pricing option. Customers can identify the number of classes they wish to purchase in a multi class program. The customer will be charged an additional 20% of the per class fee (rounded up to the nearest dollar) for the number of classes requested. In the event that a customer is not sure of the number of classes (due to work schedules, etc.), MHRD will discuss options with the customer on a case by case basis.
