Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District does not systematically collect any information about the identity of individuals searching our site. However, Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District does collect and retain the personal information you choose to provide.  We collect only as much information as is absolutely necessary to administer and deliver programs and meet your service expectations.

When you register for a program, Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District collects and retains the following:

  • Contact information such as home and work phone numbers, email address, mailing address.
  • In the case of fitness classes, pertinent health information.
  • It may be necessary to request children's ages for participation in specific programs.

Why do we collect personal information?

We collect and retain only the minimum amount of information required to provide valued programs and services.  Your personal information may be used for the following general purposes:

  • When registering for a program, your contact information is required for confirmation & cancellations of classes.
  • Program instructors will be given class lists with your contact information in the event of class cancellations.
  • To process your requests for services/programs or further information.
  • To understand, develop and/or enhance your program, service and information needs or concerns.
  • To send you Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District program guides, newsletters, receipts, statements, etc.

Consent & Implied Consent

It is important to us that we collect, use or disclose your information where we have your consent to do so. Implied consent is consent that can reasonably be conferred from your action or inaction.  For example, when you register for one of our programs we will assume your consent to the collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal information for purposes related to your participation in the program or for other purposes identified to you at the relevant time.
